I also highly recommend the following book: A Familiar Exposition of the Constitution of the United States; Containing a Brief Commentary on Every Clause, Explaining the True Nature The author is Joseph Story who was Justice of the Supreme Court from 1811 to 1845, born three years after the Declaration of Independence, and whose father fought in the American Revolution. His book is said to be the most important book of American Constitutional interpretation ever written.
